the lovely joel plaskett played this song at his gig in antigonish when i was home this summer. he said he wrote it after spending the day walking around glasgow last fall and being reminded of halifax. what i want to know is why i wasn't aware he was touring the uk while i was touring the uk myself.
my time in glasgow is pretty much half done. i hate this. firstly, because i love it here and am nowhere near ready to leave. secondly, because i have no idea what to do next. i have no idea what i want to do or where i want to do it. i miss halifax dearly, but don't know if i want to actually live there again. i want to go back to school, but really can't decide on what i would possibly be content in taking. i want to go to australia and have this adventure all over again with a new[ish] set of accents, but i don't want to have to settle into yet another new place only to be forced to leave once more just as i'm getting comfortable. i don't want to stay here forever, but i would like to leave when i'm ready, not when the government says get outta here. oh, bother.
i put up all my photo booth pictures on my wall the other night, finally. i think i need to add to the collection. dear canada, send me mail. and by mail i mean sweet photo booth strips. see if you can top jay's series of playing a flute, metallic boxers on head, blindfolded and closeup. it's going to be tough, but i believe in you! remind me of all the reasons i should be excited to come back home! love, leah.
i think i might buy a guitar this weekend. genius i know. we all know how often i played my guitar in halifax. maybe i should just stick to guitar hero. but seriously. people of scotland. where do i go to find cheap guitars? and i mean really cheap.
in 2 weeks i will be visiting allyson and chris in belfast! two weeks! i'm excited!
