only thing is the ticket info says doors are at 8:30, and the last bus to edinburgh is at midnight, so i don't know how much i will get to see with 2 openers.

i am going to have to figure out all this podcast business.

Wintersleep, Land Of Talk, and Dog Day have all had their albums released in the U.S. and are getting a big promotional push, so I'm not surprised to hear that Wintersleep and LOF are also getting attention overseas too.

In Canadian news: The Got To Get Got (new band that features the two Marks and Catano, with mastering done by Jim) finally released their first EP called "Canadian Arts Collective Blues / Huge Zig Zag" and it's as amazing as you'd expect it to be. Every song sounded immediately familiar upon first listen. Assuming all goes as planned, you should be able to download it HERE.

Then I was browsing the Ache Records website the other day when I saw this:
Baby Control - Best War
A debut full length by Vancouver / Seattle band, featuring Zoë Verkuylen (The Red Light Sting), Mark Colavecchia (North Of America), Dan Tompkins (Got To Get Got), and Chris Vanderlaan (Animal Names / Buzzing Bees).
Punk at it's most inspired and charged. Anxious and noisy. More info soon.
Out in the summer.

What can I say... I like to share!

I didn't think to look for it, but the Baby Control band has a MySpace page complete with a Nirvana cover:
http://www.myspace.com/babycontrol

It's interesting that 3 of the 4 GTGG songs that you listed are not on the EP. How dare they withhold songs from the general public?! Of course, last week on my radio show, I just HAD to use the opportunity to give a North of America history lesson. Who wouldn't want to listen to a show that plays hits like...

North Of America: Essentials of the Knife Fight
North Of America: Built Sought Destination
North Of America: xrxxrxrx
North Of America: Destroy Tambourine
North Of America: Four Pascals
North Of America: Don't Ask Me How I Did It
The Holy Shroud: Say What You Are
The Got To Get Got: Blood Test
The Got To Get Got: No One Riots In The Winter

I should have read your post first, eh?

You were obviously there. I was about three metres west of you, sweating badly!

The CD is truly great!

haha. i am only getting to this comment now so it's okay!

i think everyone in that place was sweating badly. when we first walked into the upstairs bar i was wearing a sweater and a jacket and i thought i was going to melt. i didn't put them back on until i was back in edinburgh!

i'm going to be telling everyone i know here to pick up that mag while they can. what day does the new issue come out/this one get removed from stores?

Current mag's dated for tomorrow, so I guess they have a week. I really can't believe the stuff that's on it...including your buddies Wintersleep and Holy Fuck...you are SUPERCONNECTED!
