On the Road
A Supernatural Genfic Zine
A 'zine for those of us who write genfic -- episodic-based, angst, drama, comedy -- anything's game! Why restrict fanfic to the internet when so many of us end up printing off stories to read on the train, while next to the pool, or curled up in bed?
And so, we present On the Road, a 'zine of genfic just for you. And we're currently looking for submissions. Interested? Read on!
This 'zine will be a bit different, as the publisher is a crazy woman who already has so little time. Instead of being published like a magazine, On The Road will be put out as a collection of short stories and bound in the style of a larger-sized paperback. This allows for longer submissions and more stories, poems, and drabbles to be included.
Submission Guidelines:
The submissions deadline is September 15th, 2006. Any work submitted after this deadline will NOT be considered for this issue. All submissions should be emailed to:
ontheroadzine@gmail.com The general theme is On the Road. However, your fic does not have to follow the theme, as it is just suggested.
Work should be new fics, though previously posted fics WILL be taken into consideration should you plead a good case for it's inclusion.
Please try to keep submissions between 100 ~ 5,000 words. The length limit is now approx. 20 printed pages, or about 15,000 words.
No NC-17 stories.
We will accept fics in Word, Open Office, Word Perfect, and PDF format ONLY.
Publication Info:
On the Road will be published and distributed Monday, October 23rd, 2006.
Copies can be ordered through the community. The cost will cover ONLY the costs for publication, ie, paper & printing, and NO PROFIT will be made off the publication of this 'zine.
If your story is published, we ask that you PLEASE help out with these costs, as they are coming directly from our pockets (and we're not rich!). But DO NOT feel obligated to do so.
Contributors will recieve (1) free copy prior to the official publication date.
This community will be updated as submissions are recieved and more information becomes available.
All questions should be directed to us through comments on this post or emails to ontheroadzine@gmail.com
