Satisfaction ...

*John takes a moment to look at the result. It felt like a brilliant idea that he had gone out for supplies a week before planned. He didn't think he was going to be able to get as many as he did, and they weren't as many as he wanted, but he was still pretty satisfied.

And oh, did he look forward to having the others find them.

Oh - hello, John.

What... what is all this? Did you do this?

Well, I bought them if that's what you mean. I don't suppose you... Do you celebrate Christmas at all?

Sun nods slowly, eyes still on the trees.

Sometimes. For last year my daughter and I were in London at the time and it... just seemed like the thing to do. She enjoyed it.

Sun turns back to John, giving him an odd look.

Why would you do something like this?

Because, Sun... most people could use some cheering up. Especially given what has happened lately.

People may be on an island, Sun. But they want it to feel like home and for most of them... Christmas at home involves a tree. You're welcome to take one home! I'll carry it over for you if you want!

Well, yes, I suppose that's true. There hasn't been a lot of happiness around here lately.

Yes, that's - wait, what? Sun's eyes widen and she starts rambling. N-No, really, that's fine, Locke. I mean, Christmas never involved a tree for me and I'm sure there are others who need one, and it's not like I have someone to share it with...

Her words trail off, and she stares at Locke with barely veiled confusion. She wants to ask him, 'who are you?' but that doesn't seem very appropriate. She remembers this Locke, this nice, caring kind of Locke; but she remembers the body, too.
