MOAR BB ICE DANCERS
Maybe you don't know it yet, but YES, you can stan even more skaters because this is an Introduction post. They are
Sara Hurtado and Adrián Díaz
Sara is 17 years old, and was born in Madrid. She was a single skater, and even won silver in several novice competitions in 2007.
Adrian is almost 20 and was born in Barcelona. He also was a single skater, and his best result was a bronze in a Junior Competition in 2007.
They teamed up in 2008. Their programs are made by John Dunn and Romain Haguenauer, and they train in Madrid.
And what make them so awesome? Ok, I'll tell you
THEY ARE THE FIRST ICE-DANCE COUPLE IN SPAIN EVER
Seriously, do you know how complicated is being the first competitor of something in your country?
When they started skating together Sara had a hard injury in one of her ankles and they had to stop during the whole 2008 summer. In September, they were going to take part in the Junior Grand Prix event that was held in Madrid (the first international figure skating competition ever in Spain), and spite of the doctors' opinions, they skated there. But like Sara's ankle was far of being healthy, they just did the Compulsory Dance and withdrew.
They competed one month later in another GP event, finishing in 9th position.
Their best results this past season were 6th places in the Istambul JGP and in the NRW Trophy, and the gold in the Spanish Nats (where they competed against French couples as well). They finished 16th in the Junior Worlds (they finished 32nd the previous year) and this year they'll compete in the European Championship in Bern :D
