I've had a fucking emotional ass day and I'm sitting here crying because I can't believe I live in this country anymore. Nothing, nothing will ever prevent someone from debasing someone to a simple ignorant and horrible term merely because of their skin color. No one is safe from scorn. If you can call the President of the United Fucking States a 'nigger' than who can't you? What are POCs supposed to think of this? How the fuck do you even RESPOND to this?

I'm seething.

You aren't the only one. I'm waiting for America to just implode from it's own hatred. I felt like, for a very long time, that America's downfall is going to be it's racism, and I feel like we're getting closer and closer to that end. America is on it's way to collapse, and it won't be due to class, greed, or anything of that ilk. It will be due to it's hate.

This is exactly how I feel. It makes me so sad and so utterly exhausted from trying anymore, how can one fight so much hate?

I can only hope that all this hatred and fear is largely the death throes of a generation we'll largely be better off without.

This is how I honestly have been feeling for a while now. I commented in another board how it just feels like there's gonna be that *one thing* that's gonna set off a chain of actions that have been bubbling under the service waiting to be activated. There's just way too much hatred and vitriol.

First thought: Oh good, it's not just me that feels this exact way, then.

Second thought: Oh shit! It's NOT just me that feels this exact way, then.

I know your feels, hon'. There aren't words in any language on this planet to appropriately convey how fucking frustrated I am with the state of racial and gender issues in this country right now. I'm so sick to death of having to react to this fuckwittery.

It's days like today that just make me want to throw up my hands and say I AM DONE. I am tired of fighting sexism, racism, ableism, inequality, because what's the point? What is the damn point when things like this still happen and you know it's sure as hell going to be defended by every conservative out there.

I'm so sick of being outraged. Ugh.

I've been having this conversation with my boyfriend, and he's basically saying something that I feel makes some sense - which is that this is their last real stand before they are consumed wholly by their own hate, and when they hit that point, they're done.

I could get behind this, only because I need something to further my resolve. And it does make sense. I can't remember rhetoric being as inflammatory as these past few months have been.

Yeah. He's being quite the optimist, and I love him for it.

Meanwhile, I'm running the gamut in emotions.

OPTIMISM: FUCK YEAH, RICK JUST SPLIT THE PARTY! IF HE GETS THE RNC NOD, THIS ELECTION CYCLE IS GOING TO BE ORGASMIC!
REALISM: Well, it was going to happen eventually.
PESSIMISM: God, Americans are still going to like this piece of shit.

My boyfriend says that, too. "The most dangerous animal is a wounded one. It'll die, but it might take you out first."

Or something like that.
