“As a breast cancer survivor, I was always troubled with this whole idea that the nation’s largest abortion provider was enmeshed in the breast cancer fight when they weren’t actually doing mammograms. I look at this as smart stewardship.”

Haven't you heard? Abortions and birth control cause cancer.

I guess she must have missed the memo regarding the 700,000 mammograms Planned Parenthood has performed in the last year alone.

Do you have a cite for that? I saw someone say (in the comments to a news article, so, you know, totally reliable) that PP doesn't provide mammograms, so I'm googling around. And so far I haven't found any evidence that they do. I just see that they have breast cancer screenings, which are also valuable.

We’re so used to seeing Planned Parenthood succeed at defining themselves as the trendy place to be

Wow. I had no idea that when I waited an hour and a half for the doc appointment I couldn't get anywhere else, to get the birth control that keeps me sane, that it was trendy. I thought it was packed with stressed people and random screaming kids because it was over-needed and under-funded, but it was just 'cause it's hip!

Dudes, I was totally going to Planned Parenthood before it was cool.

i've gotta say, it just warms my heart how Charmaine Yoest tries to take the hard work and dedication of women's health activists and boil it down to 'OH WELL, ITS JUST TRENDY TO CARE ABOUT WOMEN!'

because women only care about fashion. i mean let's be real, that's what she thinks.

Omg you're amazing! Need a clapping gif.

So far no one on my fb has said anything commending Komen. I hope it stays that way.

Mine too! Even the right wing ignorance set, if they're commenting at all, are against this.
