A massively thorough study - funded in part by a pair of US oil
billionaires who are opponents of climate-disruption remediation - has
come to the conclusion that the earth is, indeed, warming.

I don't get that line of "thinking". Never gotten it.

Even if it were not CAUSED by us, it's still HAPPENING. And if it's happening then blowing shit into the atmosphere that doesn't belong there will accelerate it. And the faster it happens, the smaller our, or the whole planet's, chances to adapt and prepare.

I mean, if one knows a storm flood is coming, one get's one's shit together and DOES something. Preferably something other then just carrying on.

Sadly that is somewhat an issue in science but not so much in this case. Grant writing is an art and most studies of this size (billion data points takes a lot to run both money and computation power) are either government or corporation funded and have limits in what can be researched and where it gets published a lot of the time. Multi source funding should kind of shoot that propaganda claim down as well as people peer reviewing it. If they realise raw data and program paramatters of the model they used it helps to but people will always switch to critizing the model and/or interpetation of data. Academics are such catty in fighters if that doesn't work they usually pull the "your not qualifed to know what your talking about" card.
Sorry /end rant.

One of my professors legit doesn't believe in it. I'd never met anyone who admitted they didn't in real life, but someone he went from lecturing on circuits to the cyclic nature of Earth's hotspots to "'No, I don't believe in global warming, feel free to argue with me after class." No, ty.
