A massively thorough study - funded in part by a pair of US oil
billionaires who are opponents of climate-disruption remediation - has
come to the conclusion that the earth is, indeed, warming.

I don't get that line of "thinking". Never gotten it.

Even if it were not CAUSED by us, it's still HAPPENING. And if it's happening then blowing shit into the atmosphere that doesn't belong there will accelerate it. And the faster it happens, the smaller our, or the whole planet's, chances to adapt and prepare.

I mean, if one knows a storm flood is coming, one get's one's shit together and DOES something. Preferably something other then just carrying on.

Dissuading the acceleration is one thing. Moving to higher ground is probably a better option if you know the flood is coming. Nobody who believes is climate change is asking 10million New Yorkers to move to higher ground. Nor are they building a dyke large enough to prevent the rising oceans from causing damage.

If it is not caused by us we may not be able to stop it - herp derp.Let's say the core is getting hotter, we have a serious problem that isn't probably fixable or our fault just as an example see also Orbital forcing may be a factor. Saying we did do it we may also be into a positive feedback loop and past the tipping point.

Blowing certain "shit" (sulfur dioxide does smell terible) into the air would help lower the tempature although other things could be used (every flight making contrails or cloud seeding etc). The whole in the ozone has also gotten bigger which should help a bit. The volcanic eruptions of a large volcanoe could also bring down tempature on a mass scale. These projections are always complex and annoying to argue about.
