Trying to find a potential suicide victim

Last night, favoritezipper posted a goodbye note on her Tumblr reading "I believe I’ll be closing down this blog, not least because I’ve taken a rather high dosage of sleeping pills and chased it with a slug of vermouth. Thank you, everybody, for everything you’ve done for me

LJ policy states that if a user makes a suicide threat, they'll use the info in their possession to contact the local PD for a wellness check. I don't know how they respond if it's a user making the threat through another channel but it can't hurt to find out.

That's a big help- the police might not listen to random people, but LJ could be a different story. Do you know how to contact the site administrators/whoever would make the police call?

I looked around a bit and it seems that suicide-related posts fall under the LJ abuse policy:

Perhaps provide links to her Lj profile pages and then mention the tumblr page and give that link as well? they can go look at it themselves.

Aha. :( But yeah, I suppose you could link to this post. Was also looking at Tumblr's policy - they don't explicitly mention posts about suicide, but contacting them might possibly be worth a try - support@tumblr.com is the only address for them that I could find.

I went ahead and sent a report with the info available to LJ Abuse. The worst they can say is that it's outside their jurisdiction. I hope everything comes out all right.
