Franklin County sheriff’s actions under scrutiny after Memorial Day shooting

Virginia- The call that Franklin County Sheriff Ewell Hunt placed to a Salem Police Department dispatcher -- in the minutes before Jennifer Agee was shot to death on Memorial Day -- betrayed no sense of the crisis he was attempting to defuse, the Salem police chief said Wednesday.

"When he called dispatch at 11:18, he basically wanted to talk to a ( Read more... )

Several of my friends are on the facebook page. There's a very strong push to get rid of Hunt now. I think there was a rally today as well. Everyone is questioning whether Hunt has pulled something like trying to cover up issues before.

To me, Hunt is partial responsible for this.

Congrats! I wish you all a lot of luck. I do think you all can do this.

It's really disgusting people had to die/ get shot for Hunt's actions to come to light.

Thank you! We are going to need it. A lot of older people expressed concerns about their safety even coming to the signing. It's going to be hard work but I am confident we can pull this off.

Obviously protecting one of his own was more important than a woman's life. Frankly, I think he should be charged as an accessory to murder.

Where at? It's been all over the news in Roanoke (WSLS 10, ABC 13, WDBJ 7) but maybe that's because our police department was somewhat involved. The shooting was maybe 10 minutes from my house at a Sheetz I go to often ... still can't believe a father would do that with (presumably) his kid in the car. So fucking evil.

Jesus Christ, that article about his daughter. She sounds like a full-on terror who had entirely too much power in the office. He should've gotten fired after that!

And that poor man who got fired for complaining about her. He's still unemployed. What a spoiled brat. There is NO reason a 14-year-old should've inflicted that much chaos upon a police department.

Back at the sheriff's office, the lieutenant in charge of patrol assigned the new vehicles. The young woman interrupted him in front of his deputies and said Deputy Jonathan Agee would get one of the coveted new cruisers.

I mean, what the fuck? She was like fucking 17!

God, that poor woman (Jennifer Agee). If he had been doing his job, maybe she'd still be alive.

OMG the story about the daughter was amazing. How could she be allowed to do that? I can't even fathom it!

I hope the bastard gets fired.
