Video: George Osborne’s ‘pantomime dame’ jibe

The Chancellor, George Osborne, was accused of being “homophobic” by out gay Labour MP Chris Bryant yesterday for joking that the latter was a “pantomime dame”.

Mr Bryant, the MP for Rhondda, said afterwards: “I don’t think he would have said that phrase if I was not gay.

Oh please, like the idea of calling someone a "Pantomime Dame" would even have occured to him if he wasn't speaking to an openly gay man. Because it would be a complete non-sequiter if not

Seriously... this isn't homophobic? Seriously?

But Clegg and Cameron are sure it's not homophobic and it doesn't matter. The straight leaders have said it's ok.
