Neurochemical research has shown that the hormone released when people are in love is released in animals in the same intimate circumstances

Yep. It's like those studies that proved that baby monkeys who were taken away from their mothers have higher stress hormone levels than monkeys who stayed with their mothers. Um...no shit?
Yes, it does. It's always good to have scientific evidence for things "everyone knows", especially since sometimes things accepted as fact aren't actually true. It's great that they studied this, so don't devalue the science.
Yeah, totally not seeing the need for a scientific study since it's not like this is Totally New Information, but I guess it's nice to have some corroboration to throw at all the "But they're JUST animals!" assholes.
Because a lot of animal science is still stuck on the Descartes idea that animals are nothing more than complex machines with no emotions or dreams. And "this is obvious" is not worth anything in empirical science. So, yes, you end up testing and proving things people go "duh" about.

Aww. I love cats who can hang out together. When I had to move back home, mixing my cats with my mom's cats was such drama. They do all right now, but swat-fights still break out. My two cats like to both be on a bed together at the same time or even snuggle up together. It makes me happy.

This is our new little girl, Clementine (she's a bit bigger now, but still small). She's soft as a bunny but slightly... eccentric

This is Benedikt Meowedes, who was so named so he would be big and strong and tough.
He is small and kind of really whiny.
