If there were 20 kids waiting for the school bus together, and only 3 of them got arrested...why did the police pick those three kids and not the 17 others?

Oh, wait. Let me guess.

Fuck the police. And they want to know why we run and get nervous even when we haven't done anything? Because not doing anything isn't even protection enough to keep us from getting chased, groped, arrested, booked, sometimes convicted.

I want to know what their reasons are behind singling out those 3, as well.

Likely because they were only black students out of the 20 there.

Edison Tech is predominantly African-American, so I'd be willing to bet that most (if not all) of the remaining 17 students were black as well. From another article I read, it sounds as if these students were waiting in a different location, and the bus headed to the scrimmage (containing the coach and other 17 problems) stopped by to pick these 3 up. The other article also says that the other students watched this all unfold from the bus.

You bet. My school used to race them in track, and I'm from the Rochester area, so I'm vaguely familiar with the school. I also volunteer in the area that the school is in, and it's not the nicest part of the city. Thanks to the white flight to the suburbs, particularly the affluent eastern suburbs, inner-city Rochester is predominantly African-American. So, while the 3 kids were not doubt harassed due to their race, the other 17 were definitely not all white ( ... )

Not necessarily what you think. Edison Tech is predominantly African-American, so I'd be willing to bet that most (if not all) of the remaining 17 students were black as well. Too bad for the police. Next time they'll have to also arrest the kids on the bus for 'watching while black.'

Naw, they will arrest them for existing while black. Clearly this is what happened to the 3 young men that got arrested here. Fuck the police.
