Jun 28, 2013 23:35

The defense lawyer who opened the George Zimmerman murder trial with a knock-knock joke has found himself in a sticky situation Friday after apparently taking a “selfie” photo earlier in the week, with his daughters Rachel and Molly West, that was later posted to Instagram ( Read more... )

I don't understand this. Molly West posted the picture and the caption, and then she was mortified by herself doing that and deactivated her account? The description of her reaction as "mortified" doesn't fit because she was the one that did this! What am I missing?

Also, why the random picture of the West girls at a Miami club? Who cares? This is ridiculous.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm assuming she was the one who posed for the pic and posted it, so it's not like she wasn't aware of the pic?

I am assuming there are more pics in the articles because everyone knows hot blondes are worth objectifying ¬.¬

ETA. The fact that the photos were shot in a club suggests they're ripe for judgement as well

I'm assuming that it didn't occur to her that her picture could get picked up by the media.

Really? Her father is the defense attorney for one of the most publicized trials since OJ Simpson, and she didn't think the picture would get picked up? It takes a special kind of stupidity to be that oblivious.

I'm not saying it was a smart move on her part. But I doubt that if she was expecting it to get media attention that she would have posted it.

I added the photo of the girls in the nightclub partly to assist in identifying which daughter was the one who posted the instagram photo and made the "stupidity" comment. (They both look so much alike, I had to spend a few minutes deciding who was who.)

The nightclub photo also reveals more about the person who would do something as insensitive as posting a snarky comment like this to Instagram, especially after all of the criticism of Jeantel's personal tweets yesterday. Jeantel has been criticized for her class and lifestyle (as well as liking to drink and party).

What? That makes no sense. The first picture you posted includes the caption "Left to right: Molly West, Rachel West, Don West" How was it not obvious to you which woman was Molly? You can see her face clearly in the picture and they are all in a row is it is obvious who is on the left.

EDIT: LOL okay, the caption was probably yours, not from the original article. Still, I think including the second picture was unnecessary.

The captions were mine. I included the nightclub photo as "evidence" as to who was who. I checked several news articles (featuring the Instagram photo) and not one article identified which girl was the one who posted the image so I went to Google image search to find out. This was the only photo I could find that IDed the daughters.

It really wasn't clear what your intent was since it was pretty much just added to the end of the post with no further explanation

Lol, what? Since when is liking to party/drink considered additional evidence of one's ~unsavory~ nature? They're not even wearing ~slutty~ clothes, ffs.

The girl's daddy, whom she quoted on instagram "killed it' is right now criticizing another young woman, roughly in the same age group as his daughter (on picture) in court for going to clubs and partying. She is the lead witness, and mostly poor and black. I believe the poster is right in showing some hypocrisy here on behalf of the lawyer and his offspring.
