Once again, graduation time is upon us, and a new study by the Los Angeles Times says plenty about the state of higher education in America. The paper looked at the invited commencement speakers for 150 colleges and universities.

I'm confused though, why would BU staff boycott the Alexa event? I mean I wouldn't be proud of BU for that. Maybe I'm misreading this or missing something, but why would anyone boycott a fundraiser for someone who was a victim of sexual abuse/rape trying to raise money for other sexual abuse victims? I live in the boston area and had never heard of this Alexa thing before, but I've only been living here for about 4 years.

Don't be embarrassed. I don't know if you misread it. This whole thing is worded poorly and is confusing.

Well, I don't think that we have to support causes just for the sake of causes, if the causes use douchebags to stump for them. For example, even though Candie's promotes teenage pregnancy prevention I think they do it all wrong and they use Bristol Palin as a promoter, so I wouldn't go to a thing for them. I also wouldn't go to a sexual assault fundraiser that has, as their stumper, a person who has made a point of saying douchebaggy things against women - including repeatedly and deliberately distorting Sandra Fluke and attacking her on screen; getting sued for sexual harassment, regularly bashing women who choose to hve abortions and spraying invective against the abortion rights movement...etc. In fact, I would wonder why a foundation that raises money for sexual assault victims would WANT him to come promote their fundraiser/benefit ( ... )

No, you're right. I misunderstood before. Also I kept on forgetting bill O'reilly was writing this. I was taking it too literally and again just not remembering who it was that was saying this. I should know betetr. and also not forget!
