Stupid question but what part of his comment was anti-Semitic? Was it the part about Jewish owned press? That's wrong to begin with because it isn't even true. He is so annoying.

This is a great comment and you should feel great. Jewish people are as diverse and coplex as any other religious grouping or ethnic grouping. For instances, there are at least 56 distinct ethnic groups in China, some of which are Muslim and even - Jewish! The world is a beautiful place and it's really sad how narrowly some people view it.

I swear, liberal -isms are SO MUCH MORE ANNOYING to deal with the other varieties, since so many liberals are so convinced ~they couldn't possibly!~ because they're liberal and thus so ~open-minded or whatev. They won't even entertain the idea.

Like even in some recent post people were all talking about how Palestine and Israel are two four-year-olds that need a time-out

That comment bothered the fuck out of me but no one else said anything and I was like 'I don't want to get into all the reasons this is horrible right now'.

But thanks for mentioning that because fuck that infantilization shit is such a gross colonialist sentiment and thinking about it again I get kind of mad. not only are many of the 'responsibly adult' developed nations built on/continue to practice ethnocide and dispossession of other peoples we also have plenty of rights offenses of our own. the u.s. prison system comes to mind.

I get what you're saying but sadly Jews around the world do not have "many, many different opinions on Israel and Israeli policy."

You speak for all jews do you? And you are unwilling to listen to another one's experience or even perspective?

Well, thanks for proving my point tbh!

My initial comment to you wasn't even hostile and I was actually trying to be very respectful towards a person who as far as I understand has also faced "interfaith" discrimination (your comment about " an appreciation for my culture is an appreciation of terrorism"). It's because I sympathized that I decided to reply and it's why I started it off with "I get what you're saying". I don't mean to be vague but I have had experiences with trolls I don't wish to repeat so you instantly replying with a monolithic "troll" comment even though in my opinion I worded my initial comment with respect makes me rme and not wish to share ANY experiences whatsoever. Also I'm sick to death of rehashing very personal life stories irl or over the internet in the interminable "Are you Jew enough" test which is part of the problem I believe we're discussing. I followed very closely the storm of blind hate and fanaticism and pure vitriol that Judith Butler attracted three months ago when she accepted the Adorno Prize and it's left a very very bitter taste ( ... )

Actually, looks like she's saying she can't speak for all Jews because Jewish people have different opinions, and you're saying Jewish people have one opinion.
