Finally it happened, pyros on the pitch from Croatian fans in order for Croatian federation to get a fine, as was rumoured for days #Cro

interesting if true. apparently they're unhappy with how their federation is being run, but this is still really stupid nonetheless.
the final moments of that match were the most ~poetic justice~ thing i've seen in a long time. those Croatian supporters definitely contributed to the destabilization of the team & imo played a significant role in what happened next. i felt bad for Croatia (the NT) tho, they were really good & those supporters don't deserve them. and what a MESS, so much for safety in the stadiums if flares managed to pass through security; kinda scary.

Italy keeps winning ~Italian-ly~ and making everyone mad in the process, lol. i love it. this is still the weakest Italy NT team i've ever seen in my life tho; defense is good, but attack is seriously lacking. and Verratti is sorely missed. im pleasantly surprised by this result, but i don't think they'd be able to make it against Spain, for instance. which is why i hope both Spain & Italy top their groups... :-S

Casillas seems to have taken his sidelining with a modicum of grace.
what a year of Casillas at Porto has thought me is that a lot can be said about Iker, but not that he lacks grace. at least outwardly, the guy's pure gentleman.

Portugal again today... i hope Quaresma plays. ilh sfm, and if his form is anything like it was in the pre-Euro friendlies, dude can make things happen for us! also thank you, Ronaldo, for making our NT arguably the most hated one of the Euro.

and lastly, in club related 'news'... this prob doesn't mean anything, but <3 <3 <3 anyway.

That's what they say, yes? After 2014, Italy has to state their case. So does England, tbh, but I'm more assured of an Italy result than an England one. Conte seems organised, and the defence and the goalie seem to know each other's style of play intimately. You don't get the feeling that Italian players freak at chances, whereas with England defence - we seem pretty spooked.

A year away from the unknown probably helped to humble Casillas a bit. But I've been impressed with how he's taken his sidelining so far. He's cheering the team, contributing to morale... #impressed

It's ridic. Especially in light of what happened in Paris last year.

yes, that Juve back 4... like i said yesterday, as a Milanista i feel a little dirty for loving them so much, but i really really do. Gigi is quite simply one of the greatest things that's happened to football, ever; for instance, how great was this? and i'm *obsessed* with Bonucci as a player, he's simply one of the best center backs in the world.

re: Casillas, i agree. he could've grown jaded and bitter, but he didn't. kudos to him.
and was it mentioned here that he and Sara recently had a 2nd kid?

Gigi treats the goal like someone being called to The Watch in Game of Thrones. It's an honour, and a vocation.

Yeah, I think I posted some pictures with himself and his partner and their new boy.

Another boy called Lucas. I think he and Sara are married now? She's referred to as his wife.

Ivan Klasnic on German TV also said it was an intentional attack on the Croatian FA by their own "fans". The players I saw interviewed were livid about it as well.
