And I hope it spreads to the higher leagues.

That will take time. I think because in England, for a long time, we were only exposed to PL matches, then Sky took those away and BT, so it's only recently that they've started having BundLi matches (on ITV3) and BT sport is now showing La Liga matches, and with internet now showing clips and the rest of it, you get the feeling that footballers coming up now are expected to to look beyond English shores (for instance, Wilshire getting tasked to watch Alonso and Pirlo's matches, and then getting coached like that in his game- when he plays :S) is better.

I do think the younger British coaches/managers are more open to other aspects of the game than say... the Harry Rednaps of this world ("Just have a kickabout and a laff"- oh Harry), and just even the younger players playing alongside Spanish players and the like - it's a new generation coming up I think. They also seem more open to working in a group (due to their schooling and whatnot) than say the Gerrards and Lampards used to be. The club ties really carried into the NT dressing room, although you don't get that with the newer lads.

But yeah, it will take some time. But the fact that you can watch other league gams on Youtube, and that tactics are just as discussed as skill (in fact, I'm seeing more talk of tactics than before, in terms of formations, what they do, Zonal vs Positional play for the first time since I've been following the sport).

Now, if only our pundits could be better! I just mute the TV when they speak, and read forums instead.

IA about the commentators/analysts. I want to stab Andy Townsend every time they show him.
