DeAndre Yedlin to Spurs sooner than expected
The lad in question. Work permit or EU passport? Dunno
Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer revealed during the MLS side’s end-of-season media session that the US international is expected to receive his UK work permit in the coming weeks, before heading over to England in mid-to-late December to begin his Premier League career.
Seattle agreed to sell Yedlin to Tottenham on August 13 for around £2.5 million following his impressive World Cup cameos, on condition that he would return to the US for the duration of the 2014 MLS season.
Both sides have since remained tight-lipped on whether he would join Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the winter or summer of 2015, with the Seattle-native himself left in the dark over recent months.
With just 10 international caps to his name, it has remained unclear whether a work permit appeal would even prove successful, prompting him in the meantime to work towards acquiring a Latvian passport, which he is eligible for through his grandmother.

You can appeal yellow cards in La Liga? O.o
Lionel Messi's yellow card shown for time-wasting after he was apparently hit on the head by an object thrown from the crowd in Sunday's La Liga game at Valencia has been rescinded.

He was examined by medical staff after the final whistle and did not appear to be injured, giving the thumbs-up as he walked off the pitch.
Barca's initial appeal was rejected by the Spanish soccer federation's competition committee, prompting the club to lodge a second challenge with a higher appeals committee which ruled in their favour on Thursday.

Clubs who do not play a part in helping to banish violent fan groups known as "ultras" from football may be fined, docked points or relegated, the president of Spain's professional league (LFP) said on Thursday. The government, football authorities and clubs are seeking to crack down on the ultras after a Deportivo La Coruna fan was killed before a La Liga match last weekend in apparently organised fighting near Atletico Madrid's ground.
Atletico have cut ties with their main ultras group, the Frente Atletico, while Deportivo shut part of their stadium where a radical group known as Riazor Blues gather.

Striker Didier Drogba will have a role to play at Chelsea when he quits playing, says Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
The 36-year-old Drogba, in his second spell at the club, scored as Chelsea beat Tottenham 3-0 on Wednesday.
"The important thing is he is here and will finish his career with Chelsea," said Mourinho, whose team top the Premier League by six points.
Mourinho added: "It looks, for me, that he's going to stay doing other things when he finishes his career."

David Moyes started speaking Spanish in a press conference. Okay, so it's uno, dos tres... times, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. No mockery from me. I have six months intensive Spanish (mostly self taught) under my belt and I still clam up in public
Moyes is at Real Sociedad or 'La Real'. He coaches Carlos Vela. But calls his players Stefano- there's no one on the team called Stefano -_-
