So this is looking to be more legitimate by the hour

No denials from any party

No confirmations either

still a bit weird but if true i'm happy with this anyway

Real is a mess of a team with all that drama and as BuLi viewer (with their decent match timings, lol), I'll be happy if this is true. Though I'd have liked it more if he went back to Liverpool.

To his bff Gerrard? :D

Liverpool has so many midfielders though

Then again so does Bayern

But apparently Guardiola did want one more hm

Obviously. Gerlonso for life!

Honestly, Pep should work on that defense instead of recruiting more midfielders. Signing Benatia doesn't mean their defense has automatically become good again.

Apparently after Javi was injured and the whole "team is complete" thing fell through, that was just his plan, a defender and a midfielder.

I'm sure he knows what he's doing..

"I'm sure he knows what he's doing.."

Don't forget this is the man who is refusing to play Lahmpoleon at right-back.

if he would stop with the 3 man back and play a 4 man back line (Benatia, Lahm, Boa and Alaba or Holger if he's able to adapt to left back) I would feel so much better. but clearly that's not in his plans

i would've loved him back at liverpool a few years ago, and i'd love him back now for the feels, but he's always been slow, and now stevie is slow too lol. their partnership really worked when xabi would control the tempo of the game and stevie would do the running for him, and now stevie is doing the xabi role (with varying degrees of success), cos he can't do the running anymore (hendo is dong the old stevie role). so if they were both in the midfield we'd have the slowest midfield ever lol cos there's still lucas. i mean the problem now is stevie and lucas do the same thing and getting rid of lucas and replacing him with xabi still means you have the same problem, brendan would have to drop one of them and lbr it won't be stevie, so i don't see xabi coming back if he's leaving rm cos of kroos taking his spot.

too many cooks in that broth over there. According to the Guardian, Real Madrid was open to terms. Alonso signed a new contract with Real this January no (when he only had six months on the old contract), so it's a nice way for them to get some change, and probably get another galaxy signing before September 01, or thereabouts. The Guardian says :

Throughout last season Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, insisted repeatedly on Alonso’s importance for the side. He missed the Champions League final through suspension after picking up a booking in the semi-final. In his absence, Madrid rarely functioned with the same fluidity. Yet, at boardroom level, the approach from Bayern Munich was welcomed.

The arrival of Kroos brought competition for Alonso, even if Ancelotti at first appeared likely to play the two together. But as discussions continued, Alonso did not play for Madrid in their opening league game of the season against Cordoba on Monday. Alonso was one of four deep-lying central midfielders along with Kroos, Asier Illarramendi ( ... )

Xabi is likely considered to be a cause of some dressing room tension.

Which makes his going to Bayern sort of funny because that dressing room eats people alive ;)

Please share! I know that during Jose Mourinho's tenure he weathered through it relatively well, considering the fall out during his reign. What's going on? How does BM's dressing room eat people alive? I'm afraid I don't follow the Bundesliga- but I guess I'm going to now.

Is this in relation to LVG's pantslessness? 'cause that's the only Bayern-related scandal I know. lmao.
