not sacked more like... demoted

does capello do vice-captains? idk maybe he'll make rio/gerrard join vice-captain

And then, knowing Capello and his A+ organization techniques (NAT), he'll make Lampard vice-vice-captain, Cole vice-vice-vice-captain, Barry vice-vice-vice-vice-captain, so that ~everyone gets a lick~ of the proverbial lollypop. ;)

but he shouldn't be demoted - if there's no reason why he can't do the job just as well as another player then why should Rio be demoted for doing nothing wrong?

Because technically, rn Rio is being demoted because Gerrard is injured - previously when he was injured, Rio was replaced by his vice captain while he was out and nothing else happened. Now though, because Gerrard's injured suddenly Rio is being totally demoted.

Rio is demoted because he's injured frequently. Has NOTHING to do with Stevie or Rio being a good captain. Capello just needs to put some stability in the team and stick with a captain for more than a year, and we can call it progress.

Rio is captain, when he was injured by Heskey during the WC, Gerrard stepped in, and Rio got the captaincy back when he was fit.

Now Gerrard is injured too, suddenly giving it to a 3rd captain isn´t an option and instead Rio is demoted. So actually yes it is to do with the other players.

this whole thing is making my head hurt

in my mind, it's similar to the whole clusterfuck around the german captaincy. it's possible that lahm is going to get demoted from captain when ballack (finally) comes back, even though he's done nothing wrong (and in fact he's actually done a lot right)

it sucks, and i've never been capello's biggest fan anyways, i think the way he's gone about this is really assbackwards, and tbh i would totally be behind scrapping the whole fucking team/staff and starting again

I didn't say he was thrilled but he isn't a 12 year-old who's going to cry in the corner, he's happy at United

You said he doesn't care, however I doubt he doesn't care. Rarely anyone wouldn't care after having their captaincy taken away.

To the extent that you're claiming, no, he doesn't, you were being overdramatic

Excuse me, but when did I specify he's quitting life over this? Stop being so fussy about it.

Your phrasing was melodramatic
