I'm so glad she was able to the funding she needed to make this doc. The grandmothers, as she calls them, deserve to have a voice.

Agreed. I've always been fascinated by the difference in how WWII is taught in Germany versus the U.S. or Japan; there's a comment from a Japanese high school student on the website basically saying "How did this happen and why do they not teach us about this??" that really stood out to me for that reason.
