EU ministers reject extension of maternity leave
EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Employment ministers on Monday (6 December) rejected a proposal set forward by the European Parliament to extend maternity benefits from 14 to 20 weeks of full pay, seen as excessive while governments struggle to cope with budget deficits. Not surprised though, Romania's economy is in the shitter right now so they'd be cutting from social programs. They already cut people's incomes.

My boyfriend's family lives in Romania, and every time he talks to his parents we hear about more income/pension cuts :/
