Ryan Gosling has signed on to narrate Phillip Montgomery’s documentary “ReGeneration,” about the causes of rampant cynicism in today’s youth and their apathetic view towards social and political causes. The late Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky and Talib Kweli also make appearances in the movie.

Repped by IFA Talent Agency and Artist Management, Gosling is also producing the project, along with Anonymous Content’s Matt DeRoss and Engine 7 Films’ Joel Goulder and Jeremy Goulder.

The actor will next be seen later this year in “Blue Valentine,” which the Weinstein Co. picked up after it had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. “Valentine” is about to screen in the Un Certain Regard section at the Festival de Cannes in the coming weeks. Gosling is currently filming the untitled Dan Fogelman comedy for Warner Bros.
