Caiman could never hide much without sticking out more, just in a different way. So he went with the usual. Plain t-shirt, leather jacket, jeans, and his big lizard head on top of it all.

He was not in a good mood. Everyone he knew was connected back to something wrong. Hell, even he probably was, if he ever got his memories back and figured out who he used to be.

Luffy was a drug runner. Kagura was in one of the families. Hokuto was Vescovo. And Saix probably worked for someone.

It did not make for a happy, relaxed lizard man.

Spotting his closest friend in Reggio Calabria, he waved a bit, before coming down on the bench, sitting close to her.

An awkward pause settled in.

"How's that Date Auction thing going?"

Hokuto seemed to be deep in thought, staring off into the darkness of the park in the evening. Despite the obvious conspicuousness of her close friend, she didn't notice his presence until he sat down on the bench beside her, startling her a little.

But surprise was quickly replaced by recognition, and a small warm smile spread over her face. "It's going well," Hokuto answered lightly, "I think we're looking at a minimum of thirty thousand dollars."

She paused, then asked carefully, "How is Luffy?"

"Surprisingly well. Kid was obviously beaten and shot twice. But I didn't even need to bring him to the emergency room."

"The bullets didn't go through him. They bruised like a bitch, but they kind of just... stuck to his skin. Couldn't break it. And I got to learn a couple of interesting things about Luffy ( ... )

Caiman's story was taking with patience. Hokuto listened quietly, only occasionally nodding her head or making a light sound of affirmation to show that she was paying attention. Her expression was slightly troubled-- as if it pained her somewhat, to hear what she was being told. But there was no sign that Hokuto was going to be judgmental-- there was only sympathy.

Hokuto paused another moment to let everything sink in properly before responding, still using that careful voice that suggested she was thinking her words through thoroughly as she answered. "Yes, I was acquainted with Miss Yuuko. She was a customer of mine," Hokuto replied, "But I haven't heard a word of or from her for some time."

"These people that came after Luffy," she added after another second,"They're still out there?"
