Patiently, his expression relatively blank, he slowed to a stop from his steady pacing beneath the boardwalk.
Then he turned, a large panther of a shadow in the darkness, to stare toward the directions that Kristoph could be arriving from.
Brian had called from a pay phone, and had been forced to hang up abruptly because an informant that wasn't aware of his Vescovo affiliation had shown up out of nowhere.
Would his consigliere bring reinforcements? It didn't matter, as long as he came, really.
