The Boy Come Home

Jan 04, 2008 09:38

Who: Tadayasu Sawaki, Kei Yuuki
What: awkward reconciliation between two old friends
Where: Tadayasu's apartment/brewery (311 Calle Aventura)
When: Sunday, 01/04

Tadayasu's apartment couldn't at all be described as a mess. It was more...cramped. Huge brass vats dominated the space, brewing with a faint hiss. There was a couple feet set aside for the display of the latest brew on a little table with bottles and little paper cups. That was it as far as open space in the living room. There was a tiny corridor between the brewing vats that he used to get to his postage stamp sized bedroom with its tiny tv, hot plate and rolled up futon. In his vision, bug sized brewing microbes danced and played, lived their tiny, funny, song-lives.

Sawaki had retreated to his room, doing nothing but read the city network and brood. Ever since New Years, his head been churning just like the vats. He felt as if everything he'd come to the city for was in vain. Kei was here but hardly the same Kei...and he clearly didn't care enough to let him even know he was alright.

It took some time for him to notice the knock on the door. Reluctantly, he got up and weaved his way through the brass giants, opening it on the face of his oldest friend.
