((Oi, lmao, I am too used to replying to comments rather than the post, and alas, I forgot to track this thread to know when it's my turn. MY BAD XD. I'm sorry!

And I'm leaving out the fourth actual hack as when this post was made, the last hack wasn't posted yet. I assume it makes IC sense that way?))

Not being familiar with a lot of the officers was a standard thing for Lauren. One: working Undercover Ops sent her with very little time to socialize within the Headquarters itself, and most of the time she worked solo. Second: After being in California for seven years, a lot of employees were new or ranks had been changed.

She wasn't sitting for long, as Motoko then addresses her.

"Thank you," she spoke with a small smile to Motoko before commencing. Standing up and facing everyone else in the room, Lauren's finger ran across the folder she was holding idly. "My name is Lauren Reed, I work Undercover Ops. I'm sure you all at least are aware that there have been hackings recently. To date, there have been three cases, all seemingly by the same person. Not much is known about the hacker; he uses the alias 'The Laughing Man', and has a fondness for J.D. Salinger quotes. It is found that the hacker will contact you, by way of e-mail or mobile, if you comment and mention Salinger. I, myself, have been contacted three times, all with various cryptic quoting and password attachments. Besides this, the one constant is their way of sending messages; they are always coded within the hack itself, using mainly binary code. As for the logo itself included with each post, I've sent copies to tech division for further analysis."

Pausing momentarily, Lauren opened her folder up and lifted out thinner, individual briefing folders, giving one to Motoko before moving to hand one to each member present, continuing as she went. "You will find screen-captures of each hack thus far in the folder, along with the decrypted messages and statements gathered from the victims. Upon speaking with each individual, there was no direct connection between why their post was chosen and the messages contained within the hack have had no relation to them - up until the very last one: Jared Sampson. Taken from the binary code in his hacked post are the words "Shinra Corporation" and "Cop Killer". Whether it is by pure coincidence that Sampson just so happens to have apparent ties to the Shinra Corporation - remains to be seen. What we have with these two words are very likely to be possible clues as to the hacker's motives."
