My good friend, imayb1, sent my guys beautiful gifts for my birthday. So, one cold day, I gathered the Crew together in the warm bed to unwrap their goodies.

T: I think he was saying 'Thank You' before he passed out again. He was up too late last night, patrolling the neighborhood.

H: *mumbles* There goes my ear...
C: GIMME GIMME!!!

H: Open the envelope, brat-cat!
C: Ooh! A pretty silk pouch!
T: That is a nice brocade.
o: Open it and see if anything is inside.
C: Paper! Poo-eeee!
S: Let me see it - ah, it is a note. Ack, it is in English... It is hard to read... Onna!
o: Yeah?
S: *whimper* My English is not very good. What does this say?
o: It says, "He's such a greedy crow. I figured he could use a pouch for treasures." *laughs* Yep, she knows him, alright!
H: *chuckles as he takes note* Seems imayb1 does know you and your habits pretty well, Chi-brat!
C: *slams elbow into H's ribs*
H: OWW! HEY! That was uncalled for, you stinker!
C: *thumbs nose* Nyaahhhh!!!
C: *finds something in pouch* This looks YUMMY! *starts biting it* Yow! It's hard!
o: Don't eat that! It's glass, you idiot!
H: Do you mind if I look at your new jewelry?
C: It's mine! No touchy!
H: Gee, Chikara, calm down!
T: Chi-chan, be nice! Hatori just wanted to see it.
S: Hey, Chikara...
S: ... you know Hatori isn't going to take your present.
H: *mumbles* Goofball cat...
T: Are you going to apologize now, little one?
C: *hangs head and mumbles* Soweee...
o: Let me help you put that on, kitty...
o: Okay, Chikara has his necklace; now it is time for Hatori to open his present. Here you go.

H: This is a nice book. And look at the brocade cover - it is a dragon.
o: Very nice, and she obviously picked it just for you.

T: You know, Shuichi has been very patient and quiet; I think he should be next!
H: True - it is Shu-kun's turn now.
cS: Did I hear my name? *crawls over to Shuichi*

o: Here is your envelope.
cS: I am going to get closer!
S: Okay.
o: So, what did you get, sweetie?
S: This is a pretty necklace - with nice stones and a carved pink rabbit! It is a little like Kumagorô!
cS: And I have a bright pink wire butterfly sculpture with beads!
o: It looks great on you, Shuichi!
S: Yes! I like it a lot! Thank you for the gifts, imayb1!
cS: Um, Shuichi-kun... do you think you and imayb1 would mind if I borrow this to decorate our cubby?
S: I think it will be just fine, chibi. And I will always know where it is when I want to admire it!
o: Well, the last gift is for Eiri, who is still on his book tour around the world...

cE: I am Eiri, so the present is MINE!
o: I really think this is for big Shuichi's Eiri, who is out of the country right now.
cE: It has my name on it.
o: Now, I know the Malachite Liege asked you to become these personnas, but neither of you are really the actual Eiri and Shuichi...
cE: Your point?
S: Ummm...
cS: Let me handle this...
cE: *looks over and notices cS crawling toward him*
cS: Eiriiiiiiii.... C'mere...
cE: *starts drooling slightly*
cS: Kiss me, my little stud love!
cE: Mmmm... *smooch*
cS: Let's go back to our cubby...
cE: Damn straight, you cock tease!
And off they scampered.
S: *sob*
H: Shu-kun! Are you okay?
S: *sniffle* I miss him...
H: *searches his brain for a way to distract Shuichi, then realizes* You know, Trans does not have anything!
C: Huh?
S: *wipes nose* That's right - Trans has no present!
o: Guys, you have to remember that Trans was not a member of the Crew when imayb1 was gathering gifts - she did not ignore Trans - he just was not around at the time.
C: I give him a hold-hand! *grabs Trans' hand*
T: I really don't need anything.
C: *quietly* You don't like my hold-hand?
T: It's a wonderful, heart-felt gift, little one. Thank you!
C: I will pet your hair, too!
T: You are such a silly kitty, Chi-chan.
N: *rolls over and mumbles while hugging Trans' arm* Trans is my best friend.
T: *smiles*
S: Trans, you know you are important to us! ANY time you want to use anything of mine, you are always welcome to do so. You are my friend! *takes Trans' hand* And you are very important to me!
H: Same here! You are a breath of calm air around these idiots. I cherish your ability to keep the peace, too. *rests hand on top of Shu and Trans' clasped hands* You are an important, essential member of this crazy 'family'.
N: *squeezes Trans' arm and sighs happily*
C: You can use any of my stuff, too, Trans! *pats Trans' hair*
H: *mumbles* The cat sharing? Who would have thought?
T: Thank you all. *blushes* You are all very important to me, too. I do feel like I finally have a family, for the first time in my long life. It is all the gift I need, and want.
