Friday A-Kon Photos
I think I semi-converted at least three people to consider getting a abjd this past weekend at the con.
Our friend S, who runs around with us at the two Dallas cons, was looking forward to seeing Shuichi, found him beautiful, went to the doll meetup and now wants to get a male doll to represent her favorite anime character.
We have long-time ren faire friends who now have a jewelry booth in the Dealer's Room at both cons every year, C & G. I had already sent them some jewelry links because I knew their work would be great for dolls, too. Now that they have seen my guys and others at a-kon they have some ideas percolating and they want to get one for display purposes (and to play with, too!).

Look! Little tiny Dollfies! Yes, these are real Dollfies! Who would have thought they would grow into something so large as a Super Dollfie!

Last year at animefest, I picked up a wonderful hot pink cat-earred hat from the wonderful knitter at platypus dreams. She was at a-kon this year and I asked her if it was possible for her to make something to somewhat match my hat for Shuichi. After taking some measurements and having me select from the yarns on hand, she was able to whip Shu's hat out in about an hour. She let me take a picture of her and Shuichi in hats.

We stopped at our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner and Shuichi quietly knelt on the table and got compliments from the wait staff.
