"Did I capture your imagination?"

Getting up for a 7Am shift = suck.

Getting out of work by 1PM = awesome.

The parents are gone for the weekend. Kari and I are cooking shrimp and fettucini alfredo, and I rented a whole bunch of movies (rent 3, get 1 free!). I picked up The Grudge, Closer, Sideways, and Hotel Rwanda. I haven't seen any of the above yet, so if you have, don't tell me anything. Don't even tell me if you liked it or not, because that'll affect my opinion before I even have a chance to sit down and watch. And if we run out of viewing goodness, I got Kari addicted to The West Wing, so we've got two seasons of that to play with.

I had this really weird, vivid dream last night. In it, I was at work and Nick was in charge, but none of the drawers had any money in them. Some of them had change, but that's it, and nobody could figure out why. The customers were all freaking out because they only had large bills and we couldn't break them, and then my mom came in, so I started complaining to her, but she yelled, "For crying out loud, Lindsay!" and stormed off. Then all the lights dimmed and the store became very club-like and they started playing "Vogue" over the loudspeakers so we were all dancing while we packed bags.

Very strange. The money thing is probably just a manifestation of my annoyance that people seem unable to pay for anything - even a pack of gum - with a bill smaller than $20. The club thing doesn't make any sense - but they played the song while I was at work today and I had a good laugh.

Work Quotes
Jim: Lindsay, your dad was at the service desk just now. He was buying toilet paper and foil-
Me: And sour cream. I know what my parents shop for, since I, you know, live with them.
Jim: Yeah. Weird.
(You have to imagine this taking place at 7:30 AM when we're both still half-asleep. Most deadpan coversation ever)

Melissa: Was that your sister that came in just now?
Me: Yeah.
Melissa: Wow, you guys look almost identical.
Jim: Yeah, they're pretty much the same person.

After that bit, Melissa asked if we were born as twins, and I almost said, "Yeah, we started off that way, but then we grew out of it." I cut off the snark, but damn, it would have been a good response.

A someone I graduated with came through my register yesterday and made a snide comment about my working in the Stafford Big Y and implied I'd never get out of my town. I smiled and politely shut her down, and then I felt really good about myself.

Tanya was over earlier. Talk about a blast from the past. She brought her daughter, Kaylie, over, who's almost two years old by now. Cute little kid. It was so weird seeing Tanya, though, it's been a year and a half since we last saw each other, easily. Not complaining, though, it was good. Even if we had to watch Blue's Clues.

Sidenote: I officially have the 25th cleared! I checked my schedule and I'm not on it! That means I'm going to own NYC that day, bitches! If I didn't need the hours, I would have cleared Sunday as well and just camped out on Jeff's floor overnight, but that wouldn't work. In any case, I'll be in the city that day, so that means good times!
