Flown from the "nest"

Sep 02, 2005 18:41

So this morning I moved away from home. I haven't actually reached my destination yet, that will be tomorrow's post.

Saying goodbye was more difficult than I anticipated. I'm not usually a crier. Few people have ever seen tears, but last night I bawled in Mark's arms. It was 2:30 in the morning, and we were finally alone after visiting people all night. We laid on the dewy grass in this random park and he held me as we cried. I've been crying in bits all day today, if I think about him, or leaving, or anything related, my eyes well up (as they are now). Even after how frusterated I was getting over the summer, I think that was me subconsciously trying to protect myself from heartbreak-which in the end was inevitable.

I'm looking ahead to the days to come. Saturday I fly out of Toronto. Sunday I register and move into residence. Monday is MUN orientation, Tuesday is MUN orientation/Paton College Frosh days, Wednesday is the first day of classes with Music Orientation in the evening. Thursday is the Music Student's Union BBQ and Night activity.
