1...2...3 ::exhale::

DEAR LJ:

the last month has been exhausting. i've finally caught my breath. all of my time has been proportionally delegated to sleep, work, school, liz, and jessica. sorry livejournal; you're just not as important.

school is going well so far. mostly well... my american HIStory class is boring, sadly. the very first day, my teacher accused the Aztec Empire of being "barbaric." that was the only bit of "cultural" information the class received about that entire tribe. meanwhile, the Spanish, who actually INVADED and conquered the Aztecs BARBARICALLY, received about 20 minutes worth of cultural analysis. i've decided that after this semester, i'm not taking another american history class ever again. unless it's taught by a black woman. it's really sad when you can learn 20 times more about american history in an american literature class anyway.

i'm also taking precalculus, french, biology, and english 1102. precalculus will be a breeze. i'm taking french because i want to learn the language and about the culture. i'm taking biology because i slept through or skipped out on most of it during high school. this is the 5th time that i've taken engl 1102 and i finally got a teacher that doesn't teach that class like a Comma Splice Dictator. actually, he's pretty cool. and he claims to have read every chomsky book in print.

work feels so much better now that i'm back in school. actually, my life just feels so much more complete now that i'm pursuing my goals. i've been thinking a lot lately (as i do) and i think that i might like to strive to become a professor of political science, law, and/or world history at an ivy league university. education, at its very best, is the root of all social progression, after all; and this is something that i would be very proud to factor into.
