(no subject)
The boys (with some guidance) choose their summer books. James is going to be reading Pippi Longstocking, Caddie Woodlawn, Ben and Me, and possibly In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson. William will get The Dark Is Rising, Swiss Family Robinson, and The Outsiders.
At first I was a bit shocked that The Outsiders could be in the reading lists for babies as young as mine. LOL I think I was in 5th grade when I read it and William is about to start 7th. It just seems so mature. I think it's real world issues instead of the fantasy/future/past kind of stuff that makes it seem more mature. Plus I need to look on the bright side and that is that *I* would love to reread The Outsiders. I planned the same thing last year when he read A Wrinkle in Time but actually didn't get around to it.
By the way, I saw the preview for Elementary -- I kinda want to watch it. I was a bit worried that LL would not do well as a beta to JLM's alpha but I think he's stepped up and is quite manic and she's stepping down at least some. I still think it'll be an issue but maybe not as much of one. Plus JLM has an accent! <3
