twelve; the year's end is drawing closer, isn't it?

Hello, everyone! I'm back!

First of all, to all my students, I must apologize for my unnanounced absence. I got called away for a bit regarding my grandfather's estate, and the message seemed quite urgent, so I walked there as fast as I could.

And on that note, yes, I walked there. To Glasgow and from Glasgow. In retrospect, I can't imagine why I ( Read more... )

Make sure you rest after traveling like that.

Well, it's not really the trip that tired me. I've walked worse. Things were a little stressful back home, however.

Well, you should take a few hours to rest at least. Is everything alright?

It's what I'm doing now, actually. Grading and checking the journal can be done from the comfort of my lounge chair, thank goodness.

It's really nothing. Just a few loose ends that keep appearing. I ran into the aunt of a student. Miharu Rokujou? I don't teach his group, so I'm not sure if you know him. She's a bit of a family friend, so unfortunately she was inviting me to things left and right. Even after the mess at my house was done, she kept me home for several more days... Somehow all that exhausted me more than the walk back.

Just read your journal, I can grade any papers that need to be done.

That sounds a bit annoying... I don't think I've met him. That sounds nice, since you're here most of the year she must miss you. I know that when I go home, it's not like that at all.

But you must be swamped for work, I can't simply leave it all in your hands.

She's the closest thing I have to a relative, I suppose, so it isn't terrible. I only moved back home recently, after finishing my job with the Ministry, so she may simply be enjoying the fact that she has someone to dote on. Miharu is a bit... un-doteable. At least you have someone to go home to?

It's not too bad, I'm great at managing. Besides, you'll need to rest up before trip home, unless you plan on apparating.

I think that sounds nice, everyone needs someone to fuss about. No, it's always been just me... and occasionally my parents when they pop by in between work.

Apparating would be better. I walked mostly to clear my head. And besides, it only took two days. It's not really a trip that is worth planning for.

Yes, I suppose. At least I finally gained a relative after all this time.

You would also beat everyone.

I'm sure that you'll get used to it. That would be nice. It beats just sitting around alone all the time.

How so?

If you want, you could stop by? Summers by myself, I know all about those. I'm living in my grandfather's house, and no matter what I do, it always feels empty. We could have a get-together for DADA or something of that sort; invite Spencer, Yukimi, Kallen...? I could likely invite all the teachers, actually.

Well, we have to travel the whole day just to get back to London. You would be there is a blink of an eye.

That sounds like a great idea. There aren't much fun, are they? Would his house fit everyone? If it would I think you should do it, the last time the staff got together for anything fun was that teachers seminar last summer.

Hmm, that's true. It certainly saves me the ride on the Hogwarts Express.

It's quite large. My grandfather comes from a very old family... I'd love to have people over, really. There's a whole wing of the house I hardly even see anymore. And the house elves look so bored when I tell them to just dust.

And having to look at what got drawn on your face.

I think you should do it! I can help you out even, it sounds like a lot of fun to do. They'll have a lot to clean up after a party that Yukimi goes to.

Y-you heard about that, huh?

That sounds great! No reason why we shouldn't see each other throughout the whole summer. Ah, yes. I remember. I'll have to bolt the wine cellar.

I think everyone did.

Exactly! Ten weeks is really too long to go without seeing anyone. I hope that works.

Why are my misfortunes broadcast to the world like this...?

I agree! It would certainly help the school in the long run. After all, if we get to know everyone better in a stress-free environment, we'll get more work done together once the new school year starts.
