Stolen from Heidi. If you read this journal, I'm sure you know who that is, so I'm not even going to bother with username crap anymore.
1. Why do you write fanfiction? What made you start?
I've been writing for years now. The first story I really remember writing, where I really got detailed was in the 4th or 5th grade. It was a story about a talking cat named Bertha. LMAO. She was violent, too. Damn. Have I always been this dark? I dabbled a bit in writing for a while, until I started writing fanfiction in the 7th grade. I stated getting obsessed with the show Friends. It was in the middle of its final season, and I wrote my version of the finale in script format. I thought I was the coolest thing ever, lol. I had no idea what fanfiction was. Then I googled Friends one day, and well, the rest is history.
2. Slash, Het, or Gen?
All of the above. :] Most of my fics are het, but I have some slash mixed in. If its slash its more often than not femslash, but not always. I've written male slash, as well, just not much. I dabbled in 30STM bandslash, too. When I write gen fic, its usually character-based, looking into their psych. Besides character one-shots, I rarely write gen, but I've done so for Harry Potter before. It always had hints of romance with Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione, though. Currently, though? I'm hooked on femslash. My current TV obsession has me obsessively shipping Paige/Alex, so that may have something to do with it.
3. What fandoms do you write in?
Oh dear. I'm going to be here for years, aren't I? I've written for Degrassi TNG, The Office, Prison Break, Harry Potter, 24, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Star Wars, Dawson's Creek, ER, Spider-Man, Roswell, and Friends. I think that's it, but its very possible that I'm leaving something out. There have been a lot. I've wanted to write for Heroes, House, and South of Nowhere, but inspiration has yet to strike me. Now-a-days, it's mostly just the first 7 or so, but that can easily change.
4. What fandoms do you read in?
All of them? Seriously though. Hmm. Let me look at the TV Show list at ff.net. Okay. 24, Alias, Boy Meets World (it was one time!), Dawson's Creek, Degrassi TNG, ER, Friends, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, House, Lost, The L Word, The Office, Prison Break, Roswell, Sex and the City, South of Nowhere, Harry Potter, Requiem for a Dream, and Star Wars. And a little 30STM bandslash. Phew. That's all the fanfiction I've ever read...that I can remember. Now-a-days its mostly Degrassi, The Office, and South of Nowhere, with a little Prison Break, Lost, and Heroes mixed in.
5. What's the worst story you've ever written?
Eiohipoew. Yes, it is a word. Um. Probably my version of the Friends finale. I haven't read it since the seventh grade, but all I really remember is Ross shows up on Rachel's doorstep in Paris and they kiss. Yeah. There was plenty more terrible Friends fanfiction where that came from. I was only ever pleased with one Friends fanfic I wrote, and that I can still stand to read. It was called, "The One With the Central Perk Reunion" and it was my version of a Friends reunion. Gunther had married a Rachel look-a-like, and there were a bunch of flashbacks. Then at the end, I had the producers come out and talk. I write their dialogue and everything. It was script-format. I also wrote some annoying Harry/Ginny diary fluffy shit in the 8th grade that makes me want to blow my brains out. Man. It was so Dear Diary.
6. What writers are your inspiration?
In the real world, I'd have to say JK Rowling, Jane Austen, and Mary Beth Miller.
In the fandom world...fated_addiction has probably been my greatest influence. Her words tear my soul in two, in the greatest of ways. Besides her, I'd say Leah Kate, because, come on, who hasn't been inspired by her at some point? OOH. THE EVER-BRILLIANT JECONAIS. Jeco is such a brilliant writer, its not even funny. His HP work is brilliant. I also love nonjon. He wrote Where in the World is Harry Potter and it's two sequels, which had me laughing hysterically over at ff.net. Back in my hardcore Skatey days, I was inspired by Bella and Rachel (silverspider and bofbanoff). Man. I loved Black Halos. I used to hold it over my friend Sam's head that I knew upcoming spoilers that she didn't. Ha. That was fun. LOVE YOU, BELLA. :] Remember when I made you an icon for every chapter? That was neat. LMAO.
7. WIPs or completed stories only?
I generally write one-shots. I write WIPs on occasion, but the problem with that is that I'VE ONLY EVER FINISHED THREE WIPs. So yeah. And all my readers are always like, "OMG I love this, update soon!!!1!!1!!1!!!!yaypalex/skate/misa/jam/harryginny/tochelle/whateverthefuck!!!1!!one!!" And then I never update again. So that never bodes well for them. :/ I've only ever attempted WIPs for Harry Potter, Lost, and Prison Break.
I've finished two HP WIP out of like 5. One was called Winter Break at the Weasley's and it only had 7 parts. Each short parts. The other was The Random, Crazy, Completely Insane Tales of the Dark Lord, Voldemort. It was made of awesome. It had ten chapters. It didn't have much of a plot, either. It just...wrote. Random crap. At one point, he was attacking a rock and talking of taking over Broadway. It just sort of happened. The people loved it, too. It was strange. OMG IT WAS A GENERAL FIC. I'VE WRITTEN A GEN FIC WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ROMANCE. HOLY SHIT I JUST REALIZED THAT. Sorry. Ahem. For Lost, I only ever attempted one WIP, and I completed it. Yay me. :] With Prison Break, I have attempted one WIP, which I semi-still claim to be in progress, but there's no way in hell I'm finishing it. I really just wanted to have Sara be all hardcore and break into a car using the under-wire of her bra, leaving Michael and Lincoln in awe. BUT ANYWAY.
I write one-shots all the time. I wrote a one-shot yesterday. I love them. They're usually the best-written one's too, so I often prefer to read them, but I also enjoy WIPs, reading-wise. But I usually only go for the already-complete ones because I hate when writers don't finish their work. Because that's not hypocritical of me at all.
