So, tonight kicks off GirlFest here in Honolulu. Tez and I are supposed to get together to go to some of the events. I'd love to do everything, but for each music/poetry/art show I go to, that's between $5-10, and any independent film is something like $6. And for a two week woman's festival, that adds up.
Buuut I've got a job doing what I do with the HRC. I make something like $700/mo minimum. Mayhaps I'll be charming enough to pull in much more money than that.
So long as I can earn enough to pay Danielle back, buy food from Green Papaya every now and then, and start saving up to pay the Mama back for this island adventure, then I'm okay.
I'm real excited about starting a new job when I get back to BR. I like jobs. I like moving and doing. I'll probably have a position open for me at GDAH (the vet office I worked at), but I know I'll need a second job. Student jobs are easy money, but I'd like to test different waters. So, any suggestions? Preferably ones that bring in money (and don't involve waitressing or retail...unless it's waysocool stuff like Habitat Imports or Coyote Moon).
Last thing: Roommate needed for when I get back.
- Two-bedroom apartment (part of four-plex) in the Garden District.
- Rent is $250/mo/bedroom.
- Utilities are something like $30/mo/bedroom during the winter.
- No lease to sign; stay as long as you need.
- Move-in is January 1.
- Roommate must like animals. I have a couple cats.
Might consider getting a dog at some point (not definite).
If we get along and are tired of the apartment, we can always find a house in the GD with a bigger yard and maybe more bedrooms for more roommates.
That's the deal.
