Heh...actually, I like that ending. Not even a fan of the coupling, in the least, but there's something about...it's just your style. I can forgive almost any sort of coupling involved.

Heh...and look at that...I see *PLOT*, definite defined plot in this one. So there. >.> *stubborn* See...Mai goes to learn what the problem is, learns of it, and I love the vagueness given. I happen to like short pieces, so? It gives you a sense of possibilities. Whereas, something like the actual show itself, takes away most of the mystery. You know just how things are going to end for Atemu. There is no possibility or open roads to explore and think about. It leaves nothing open for you to have fun with.

While overall depressing, I thought the last line uplifted the piece. >__< It was the way how the depressing vision was cut off by something like a kiss. One of the best ways to get someone to stop talking is to get their mouth busy with something else. That adds a lighter feel to the piece by itself...I'm also taking connotation from the act of kissing, which is an overall sweet gesture, which usually makes one happy, if they wanted it. Seeing as Isis is not pushing Mai away, there's no conflict on the matter. Good enough for me.

"...and the future clouds over." Again, adds to a more hopeful future. The future is not set in stone, for it's not happened yet. It can always be changed.

But all of what I say is just personal opinion anyway. x___X

*adores you* I'm so glad that at least one person got the meaning of the last line - nobody else seemed to guess that Mai had just changed her future by kissing Isis.

As for the coupling, it's actually my favorite shoujo-ai couple in YGO but I don't think there are many fics with it. At all. I've only seen one other actually, but that was really good... And, out of curiousity, what sort of couple would I not be able to redeem?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you can't redeem these couplings. I bet you could...actually, I would just refuse to flat out read them.

Set/King Thief Bakura
Seto/Bakura
Seto/Jounouchi
Seto/Atemu
Marik/Atemu
Bakura/Atemu
Most incest pairings (well, all of the ones in YGO)

I can't stand any of those couplings, in the worst way. I hiss and growl at them. ^^;; I don't see them as remotely possible if one sticks to canon and keeps it in a romantic setting. Seto/Atemu could possibly happen in a dark, angsty way through obsession of wanting to be the better of the other, but...that's a huge maybe. And it would certainly not be romantic in any sense of the word. Which makes me loathe most fics written about the two being together.

Fewer people can get that coupling right than Seto/Yuugi. And I just don't like it. They're too much alike...way too much. So...even if you did write those, most likely it would be good, but I would refuse to read it because those couplings *ALONE* squick me. Forget the stuff some people write them doing...just the coupling makes me ill.

Well, I hate Seto/Jou as well, but Seto/Bakura I've seen done well in a few places. Okay, one place. And Marik/Atemu, I've seen two decent fics, but that's all. Bakura/Atemu is obscenely popular (far more popular than psychoshipping *cries*) but I don't like it either.

Therefore, the only pairing that I'd even attempt writing from that list would be Marik/Atemu, and even that's rather unlikely, since it messes with my OTP. *pats her psychoshipping*

I'll remember that you want to avoid them though, in case I ever decided to rec fics for my flist. I think that I saw a meme which asks you to rec a fic for every person on your list.
