Buddhism's all about the denial of self, but if you're denying yourself, what's the point? In a way it's almost like committing spiritual suicide by sublimating yourself into the cosmic flow with no regard for your own identity. And isn't the notion that humans are somehow SO SPECIAL that they need to engage in a denial of instincts on the highest level so that ONLY THEY can possibly grasp universal truth inherently a point of view that belies an inflated sense of worth in humanity, the kind of perspective that, to me, is implicitly warped by mankind's tendency to favor itself????
I've been using a stationary bike. It's pretty interesting, but it makes my genital area fall asleep, which hurts like the dickens. I also wish it was higher off the ground, because sometimes my toes touch the floor, which throws me off balance. Note to self: wear shoes when on the bike from now on.
