Since Anna turned 16 on Tuesday, Johnny and I took her on her first date Saturday night. We set it up with Josh Stanburough in the ward, and took Jay Aire along with us too. This is all of us right before we took off for D.C.
Anna and Josh definately had some space between them when the evening started.
Here they are waiting for the concert to start at the Kennedy Center. We saw Kenny Garret and Christian McBride (my new favorite baser player) playing with Roy Hayes. Man they got into some good grooves.
Anna, Josh and I got icecream at McDonalds and ate it on a busy street corner. And there was lots of driving, including me going the wrong way down an expressway with oncoming traffic. I'm glad we turned around before the tunnel!
This pic is of me reclined at the Kennedy Center, leaving Anna and Josh to enjoy each other's comany (without the space between them from the date's start) on the other side of the Nation's Room. Aren't I the best chaperone!?!? I LEFT THEM ALONE. CHRISSY IF YOU ARE READING THIS- THE BEST CHAPERONES LEAVE THEIR CHAPERONEES UNATTENDED. Gosh. Why did I type that in all caps, CHRISSY?
JJ- I'm sure Chrissy has kept me from trouble, for which I should be grateful. Just like she should be grateful when I get my revenge starting in two years and continuing as I see fit. I love you CHRISSY!
I would have liked Meggan to be able to take part of Anna's first date, but alas we haven't seen each other in nearly a week, and that night was smack-dab in the middle of our hiatis. I guess absinth makes the heart grow fonder, so I'm gonna go find mine!
