Went to the Warped Tour two days ago, haven't found time until now to post anything about it. But now I can! WOO!
Went with Ryan, left early got there early. Walked towards the line, saw Amber sittin in her car, so we went and chilled with her for a bit. Commentated on everyone walking by. Coolest thing was this little kid with a suit on and a mohawk. Cool parents.
Inside, it was like a circus. My first Warped Tour, what can I say? First band I saw was Strung Out, and OH MAN! did they rock out. It was nice, because it was so early in the morning, so that not too many people were there and the crowd was pretty small. One or two mosh pits broke out and I don't think I joined in on em that early.
After that, me and Ryan walked around a bit, bought a t-shirt or two (Fuck Pedro. Woohoo! And our saleslady did have hairy armpits....... *shudders*) Then I found my Undead booth, which was being run by the makeup people from My Chemical Romance's label. Waited in line for a bit then got made up. Red eye-shadow baby, and a vampire bite to boot. Wish I woulda got a picture, cause I doubt I'll ever do that again. After that, I bought a hot dog, scarfed it, and rushed off to see Avenged Sevenfold. WOOHOO! Gotta love punk metal. GOt some crazy pits goin, and I was in the center of the action. Started in the back, made my way almost nearly to the bar by pitting. Was great!
After that, met up with Ryan and browsed some more, found this booth that was giving away raffle tickets for a prize of $100 for every 5 plastic bottles you brought. And this was great due to the fact that plastic bottles littered the ground everywhere. So we got about 8 tickets and continued on our merry way.
I really wanted to see Atreyu, but due to some technical difficulties, I missed them. :( Watched Dropkick Murphies instead though, so it wasn't too big of a loss. Red haired pride! And I did get them to sign a poster later in the day (Well, at least three of the 5 Atreyu members... two rushed off right when I got to the front. RAH).
Lets see then... More browsing followed, along with the discovery of missing Atreyu. Got a temp tattoo on my forehead (kanji for love, just like gaara. Sugoi, eh?) right above my left eye. Was like an inverted Gaara, red eyes and a black kanji. Saw Thrice, they were pretty darn good. Kept to the fringes in that one though. No need to push in.
Bought my Tour t-shirt then, and realized it looks better being worn backwards, and so I shall wear it as such. Hawthorne Heights was next, and I listened to them for a bit before going and getting Ryan again so we could forge our way deep into the Hawthorne Heights crowd, for next up was My Chemical Romance. We pushed and squeezed our way pretty close to the front right of the stage and I was happy with that. Then they started playing. OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG. I've never been so claustrophobic in all my life. The crowd just went nuts when Gerard and the boys started playing. People were crowd surfing everywhere. It was a giant sweat pit, thats what it was. And I lost my t-shirt that I actually wore to the concert. BUT THATS OK. I was smacked around all over the place and actually forced a mosh pit to break out when Thank You for the Venom started up. Got punched in the head. Twice. Still have the bumps. Also lost my footing and scraped my knee. But it was the best time of my life. By the end of Helena (to which Ryan crowd surfed), I was pushed from my starting position of right of the stage, about 3 rows of people back to the far left, about 6 or 7 rows of people back. Crazy. But I loved it. ^_^
I was just out of energy after that so we didn't force our way into the Offspring pit. Just stood by the fire truck, drinking water like there was no tomorrow while listening to the punky goodness. Left then, and me, Ryan, and his brother, Mitch, went to McDonalds, where we high fived the pimp Ronald McDonald. The drive home was pretty uneventful, but it was a good wind down from all that. I got burned like a mofo, and am only just starting to recover. BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!
Good tour! See ya next year!
