Aventail is seeking a senior technical writer to support its efforts in researching, writing, and publishing information for its award-winning SSL-based VPN solutions. The successful candidate will have extensive experience writing and editing system administrator documentation explaining how to install, configure, and manage network security products. Experience with both print documents and online help is a must. Candidates must have experience with publications planning and scheduling, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment under tight deadlines. The responsibilities may include managing deliverables from other writers.

Qualifications
- Proven technical writing, editing, and management skills
- Experience with TCP/IP networking, Internet protocols, and Linux. Must have experience writing documentation for system administrators. Experience with PKI and Web security, firewalls, or network appliances a plus.
- Proficiency with Adobe Framemaker and Quadralay Web Works Publisher.
- Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree in technical discipline or related field of study and five years’ related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
