As children, we dream of fantastic things, like fairies, dragons, winning epic battles with magic and heroism. Innocence allows a child to find pleasure and comfort in dreams. As we grow up, we change our dreams to fit reality. Teens dream about owning their first car or the first time they'll have sex. Adults dream about getting married and buying their first home. For adults, age and reality forbid us to enjoy our dreams. The desire to make dreams happen forces us forget what it was like to dream as a child. Rarely, do we take the time to enjoy the dream itself. Some adults even go so far as to punish themselves for day-dreaming about things they can't have or can't afford.
Stop a moment and day-dream for a bit. Live a few moments in the dream and take joy from it.
