Mom, Dad, Jessica and the grandgoobers opened gifts on Christmas Eve since my dad had to work at the crack of dawn yesterday. Cody got a Batman shirt and pants of some sort. I really should be canning more practical things than jalapeno jelly and hotter jalapeno/garlic jelly. Coming down the pike: caramelized onion (and garlic) jam, red onion jam, garlic rosemary jelly, tomato jelly (may have to wait a bit), beet horseradish jelly (may have to wait a bit) and hot mustard. Another 18 kitchen counters, another 15 kitchen sinks and .... Honestly, I'd settle for a kitchen that is actually a kitchen. The table that separates my "kitchen" (appliances) from my "living room" looks like a ghost town. White towels are draped over a good many ferments and soaks.
