I didn't want to write of it because, well, I'm horribly ashamed for having such feelings. But I knew that Ma would not only understand, she would give me the go-ahead and thumbs-up or whatever it was I needed when I asked her if I could shoot the damned squirrels. mr. neighbour is very toxic.
i guess the think to remember in this is that all animals are hungry in the winter...and it is their nature to flock to the nearest food source. it is difficult for all animals to get food out of the cold, hard ground, especially if ther is snow. i think often people think squirrels are pests, but really, i think they are very intelligent - using tools, their skills...to get to food.

Mr. Neighbor is indeed very toxic. I am often calling my mother or my sister crying, saying I need to get away from him. They sort of console me, pointing out that he is my only friend here, so I go right back to it. For the love of God, the man has tried to choke me to death (so much so that his neighbor called 9-1-1 on the incident) and then used me as a punching bag (that got me fractured ribs), verbally abuses me every single day, and yet my family defends him. Hell, I defend him. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Well, the things I remember are the abusive things. That's why I can't feel a lot of sympathy for him. When you were writing about his brother dying, I felt..how tragic...however, I am sure there is a reason they are estranged. And, it is not right that he expects that you are his resolution for this - his driver, his financer, his supporter. This is not your life, nor your issue. I am not a cold hearted person but I am really realistic ( ... )

Don't ever worry about saying the wrong thing to me. Yes, I am hypersensitive, but I have no doubt whatsoever that you have only the best of intentions in everything you say. I can read people pretty easily. Or I always think I can. And I've never for one second thought that you didn't have anything but complete care and concern for me.
