Yo, tech savvy people! I need ya, and my webzine needs ya...well, your advice, anyway!
I have a question for you all!
Do you think it would be beneficial for my webzine to be on networking sites like Facebook and Twitter?
We already have a MySpace site, and while it has been beneficial as far as making contacts, it is very bare bones and doesn't have cool pictures or a background. How do we get the ability to play songs on a MySpace? If anyone has advice I'd love to have some. It would be great to have a bunch of rotating songs of artists we profile.
Would Facebook be beneficial? That website does not seem to have the features that MySpace has for playing music or listing information. So, I am thinking that will not be beneficial. Opinions, anyone?
What about Twitter? I make a lot of jokes about this because 1) I don't know what it is and 2) I hate Ashton Kucher. I mean, no offense to anyone who has it, but if you do, why? Would something like that be beneficial for my webzine? Would the independent metal world be better served if they knew what I had for lunch?
I know I mock technology a lot as it represents, and is, a false god that we worship as a society. But, I realize that stuff like this is a necessary evil, especially if you have something you want to spread the word about.
If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. The last few months I have been putting everything that I have and my bare bones budget will allow into making my webzine a better and more informative place. Is any of this stuff worth my time, or is it a waste of time? I myself tend to lean towards waste but I'll be happy to entertain your opinions! My webzine thanks you for the help!
