I have no voice

My only form of communication at this point is online, mostly through IM. Good thing I can type so fast.

The thing is, I did it to myself.

My throat has been sore the past few days, and yesterday I was a bit hoarse. I went to Mike's going-away party (he's joined the Navy) and Jesse's birthday party, and talked A LOT at both of them despite the hoarseness, and now I have no voice at all. My mom called me on the phone and I was barely able to rasp GET ONLINE at her when I called her back. Still, it was completely worth it! I had a lot of fun.

I'm just glad I added the text messaging package to our phones again, because right now that's going to be our only means of communication. :p (He's at Guard, and will get back around Dec. 9.)

Yesterday, Mom came over and helped me White Tornado the apartment into shape! It was so far gone that I was pretty overwhelmed, but now it looks pretty darn good! I have a floor again in the bedroom, the laundry's almost done, and I just need to run the vacuum cleaner and probably take out the trash. Why is it so much easier to clean other people's houses!?!?

THANK YOU SO MUCH, Mom!!! :D

In the meantime... I FINALLY finished Eldest (Inheritance, Book 2)
! The middle, oh... 450 pages of this book were like TORTURE-like an extended training monologue that hasn't been edited well enough. What a slog that was. However, the side story with Roran was pretty interesting, and the last 50 pages were good. Even if Eragon is kinda dumb, and takes a long time to realize what's right in front of his face. I am going to finish reading the rest of the series as it comes out. Apparently they've just announced that book 3 is due next September, and they've decided to expand the series to 4 books. Honestly, book 2 might have benefited from being split up a bit more-at 700+ pages it was quite the time commitment.

Now I'm reading Persuasion
; I've only read half of Jane Austen's books at this point and I'd like to remedy that. I'm enjoying it immensely. If you ever want proof that human beings haven't changed in 200+ years, pick up Jane Austen. I also think that Anne Elliot is one of her more likeable heroines.

On the movie front, I got Jet Li's Fearless
from Netflix, unaware that Bryon had already seen it. It was ok. It's not my favorite Jet Li film (probably The One or Kiss of the Dragon) but it was interesting to see him portraying a historical figure, and made me want to read up on Huo Yuanjia.

Now... I'm off to make the weekly Sunday Kwik Fill Run and have dinner at my parents' house.
