One week until CHICAGO!

I just tried a small curly girl method for washing my hair, with curly hair not being my goal at all because that would be impossible, but my hair is sooooo soft this morning. I'll keep this up, definitely.
In a week from today I will be in the beautiful, beautiful city of Chicago! I and five others will be serving at Kids Club in the infamous Cabrini Green neighborhood, where kids either go to school or join a gang. Those are basically the only two options- extremely sad. Kids Club is a Christian institution where business people come and tutor kids and teach enrichment programs after school three times a week. We will be doing repair work around the building and on Tuesday we will be tutoring kids and assisting in enrichment classes. And of course we shall be indulging in Chicago-style pizza (best pizza ever). This is exactly the kind of mission trip I was hoping for! I'm so glad I decided not to go to Cuba!
We'll be there from Sunday-Wednesday next week. If everything goes according to plan, Miles will be picking me up Wednesday evening and I will get to spend the rest of the week with him. So, so, so happy!
Well, now to skip off to Sunday School, and afterward, I shall ninja-slice Plato's Republic. Pre-Socratic philosophy will never be the same again.
