music, books, movies, thoughts i have had
hey kids.
over the course of the summer so far i have found new stuff to like. thought i'd share a few just because i can.
so music: this kid Molly (the duke) got me hooked on the Scissor Sisters (who knew?). they are totally not what i would normally go for. but still i cannot deny that they are awesome. Also, i have decided that i absolutely love to dance. badly. always. especially in situations with potential embarassment for those around me. be warned, friends.
also i just bought Kasabian, which is interesting. check em out if you wish. as Liz explained nonsensically, "they are the shins with more bass and louder and no acoustic guitar and actually they are very different. they're weird."
also, the WHO is cool. I decided that. spread the word. :)
and i want to add that The Streets are still awesome, as usual.
books:
FRANNY and ZOOEY is a really excellent book. better than Salinger's other one, which i haven't read so i am not qualified to say that. oh well.
any book by JASPER FFORDE is not good. sorry. My english teacher gave me one to read, and it is not good. the others are apparently worse.
I read this awesome play, which i think i told you about before, but still i have to mention it here. "A New Way to Please You, or the Old Law" by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley is a really excellently weird and entertaining play. i would read it just because. in fact i may read it again. it is completely ridiculous.
movies:
Bewitched sucked.
Batman sucked, but it was funny so it redeemed itself for cheese value.
Billy Eliot is one of the most awesome movies i have seen in a long while. :) I heart it so much!!
All shakespeare movies are excellent for obvious reasons. except i have no desire to see the Hamlet with Ethan Hawke. maybe you do, but not me. if you see it and by some crazy act of God it is good, tell me. I'll laugh at you.

in other news, i joined a gang! fo sho, my sisters and brothers. guess what my gang is called!! HELL's effing MAGISTRATES. 'effing' not included, i just added it for emphasis. Isn't that the most awesome name for a gang. I even have a name. yes indeed. i chose it meself. I am now officially Spats McGEE! ... yes it's THAT sort of gang. a silly hipster made-up gang with cool/dorky people in it. my sort of party.
so yeah. that has been my life. i am feeling really happy and content and other such synonyms. life is just really really good. really really funny. i keep laughing when nothing is funny, because something will pop into my head or a song with come on or something. i don't really understand it, but i know i'm in a really good place right now. i guess it's good that i'm doing colelge applications now, because i have never had more confidence and i have never felt more alive, and more like i am really being myself. i think being around people who don't know me, and then letting them really come to know me, with no strings or implications or problems, has really helped me.
i have now met the real true me, and i have found delightedly that i like myself a lot. i would be friends with me. and that's a nice feeling.
here's to fulfillment. hope you're getting some.
